Bash Ali storms PDP secretariat, says Nigerian government abandoned him

The boxer stormed the HQ of the ruling PDP to demand support from the Federal Government for his next fight.
A former World Boxing Federation title holder, Bash Ali, stormed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Headquarters in Abuja, to protest against what he described as “negligence and abandonment” by the federal government.
Bash Ali, famous for his boxing antecedents claimed he had been grossly overlooked by the federal government.
He, therefore, requested that the federal government sponsors his proposed fight in Nigeria.
The boxer and his supporters were locked out of the PDP gate. They, however, vowed to stay hoping to persuade officials of the ruling party to convince the government to heed his request.
Ali was in 2006 honoured with the title of Officer of the Order of the Niger by the Federal Government of Nigeria for his achievements in boxing.
