Bible is clear on sex.

Bible is clear on sex
As one who accepts Jesus Christ as savior and considers himself to be “born again,” I feel I must respond to an article in the D-H, Friday, May 10, titled “Coming out as a person of faith exhibit to visit Sweet Home church.”
The thing I find most disturbing is the notation “Local faith leaders will discuss how they have reconciled what they were taught about gay and transgender individuals with what they have seen to be true about friends, family and peers.”
I wonder what they were taught and where? As a retired minister/pastor I received my most meaningful Christian learning from the Bible, God’s holy word. That learning continued far beyond my formal schooling. As Christians we learn from the Bible that any and every sexual relationship other than that sanctioned by marriage between one man and one woman is wrong and God calls it sin. (Romans 1:24-27 NIV)
I know several people who are gay and some of them are my very good friends. God says we are to love these folks and I can asssure you I do. However, there is a large difference between loving persons for whom they are and condoning actions and relationships that God condemns.
As Christians, we accept God’s word as our basis for truth. It is either true or it is not. We cannot pick and choose the parts we want to obey and those we choose to re-interpret. I would say to those faith leaders, you need to re-examine your stance on this issue strictly in accordance with Scripture. Secular teaching is opposite from the Bible.
We cannot allow the church, the body of Christ, to accept the secular teaching on this matter. We must remain true to God’s word.
I pray that all Christians who read this will join me in praying for our country as our government continues to infringe more and more upon our Christian religious rights. (Romans 1:16 KJV)
