The Special Assistant media to the executive secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) Mr. Olajide Oshundun has said that they were not aware of any bad treatment of the Nigerian pilgrims who went to Israel.
Mrs Efunbola Coker, who was on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily on Thursday described her trip to Israel has ‘horrible’.
Mrs. Coker who disclosed that she paid the sum of N406,450 for the trip, added that the services provided by NCPC especially the hotel accommodation were far below standard.
She said the commission had promised a 5 star or 4 star hotel as part of the benefits the pilgrims were entitled to. However, they did not deliver as promised.
While speaking on Sunrise Daily, Mr. Olajide denied the allegation saying he hadn’t gotten any official report about how Mrs Coker was treated.
Mr. Olajide also claimed that the NCPC has not gotten any official report from her except seeing her articles in different newspapers.
He added that Mrs Coker had spoken to some staff of the organization on phone but she hasn’t been invited officially to lay her complaint.
He further explained on issues surrounding the 5 star hotel accommodation saying, “we never advertised any hotel but our standard is 3 star.”
He added that there is 5 star hotel accommodation in Israel, but if 5 star hotel price was added it will substantially increase the price of accommodation.
Mrs Coker, who phoned in on the live programme, expressed her disappointment, noting that she had to complain because according to her, “I spent my hard earned money while other were sponsored”.
She also hinted that all she expected the organization to do is to send an apology letter.
