Kim and Kanye's bizarre ride

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have spared no expense to ensure their newborn baby North lives the life of a pampered princes.

But now the duo have gone beyond a decadent nursery in their posh Bel Air mansion - including costly crib, designer furnishings, handmade teddy bears from Paris, pricey paintings and the Rolls-Royce of baby monitors.

Now, West has purchased a pair of bizarre armoured vehicles to protect the modest family. The rapper laid out $2.4 million for a pair of Dartz Prombon Iron Diamond SUVs - the favoured ride of despots everywhere. 

The Dartz Motorz vehicles are built to withstand attacks from everything including landmines and rocketpropelled grenades. West ordered the excessive SUVs from the Latvian-based Dartz so the couple could safely navigate the war-torn streets of Beverly Hills.

The level of excess has even caused U.S. President Barack Obama to raise his eyebrows. Obama recently slammed today's youth for celebrating the over-the-top excess of the Kardashians. 

"Kids (of earlier generations) weren't monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing," Obama said. "Or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success."
