Bathroom Ministry: Pastor Rapes Church Member During "Spiritual Cleansing"

It would appear that for Pastor Olamide Sobowale, bathing female church members holds even more ‘deeper meanings’ than cleansing them spiritually. Pastor Sobowale was arraigned before a magistrate court in Abeokuta yesterday for raping a woman – Mrs. Dupe Makinde, 30 – while she was taking a ‘spiritual bath’ on the pastor’s orders.

The prosecuting council said that the woman was bathing in the church premises when the pastor barged in on her and raped her. According to her testimony, the pastor barged in on her while she was bathing - with soap in her eyes – and committed the atrocious act.

As the story goes, the pastor had allegedly “seen a vision”, and asked her to come to be ‘delivered’ in his church. This was what led to the rape of the woman.

Pastor Sobowale is currently in prison and the case has been adjourned until September 16th, 2013.
