JIGAWA State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido has said there would not be any ill will over the sack of the Minister of Education, Professor Rukayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i.
The governor made the disclosure during a reception in honour of the former Minister of Education, who was recently relieved of her post together with eight other ministers.
Alhaji Lamido stated that the government and people of Jigawa State were not worried about the removal of the minister of education. “What happened to you is destined to be,” he said.
“We are very proud of what the minister had done during her sojourn (in the education ministry). Her name will be written in gold,” he added.
He said the struggle for the emancipation of the downtrodden had just begun and they would not relent in their efforts at entrenching sound democratic ideals in the country.
Lamido said the current political development in the PDP was in tandem with the principles of democracy where people have the right to express themselves without any hindrance.
The former Education Minister expressed delight over the opportunity given to her to serve as a minister.
She said with the little contribution she had made in the ministry, education had been given a boost.
She ascribed her success to the backing she got from home, especially through Governor Sule Lamido.
