Mike Akhigbe is not dead, contrary to reports that had said he was dead, his brother says. Akhigbe is a former vice president of Nigeria.
He is in a hospital in America, his elder brother Joseph Alemon Akhigbe told the Osun Defender.
“My brother is stabilizing in an American hospital and not even London as erroneously reported,” he said. “As I speak to you now, the report in my opinion is pure speculation, the paper said he died in a London hospital but my brother is in an American hospital stabilizing.”
The younger brother of Mike, Aselenmen Akighbe, confirmed that he is not dead.
“I spoke with him this early morning at about 5am, that is why we are surprise with such an erroneous report,” he said. “It is not good for people to report the death of persons when such is not the case.”
It appears that several outlets reported that Akhigbe had died on October 28 in the United Kingdom.
Akhigbe reportedly has cancer and is in critical condition.
