Youths Attack Lagos Police Station



Youths yesterday attempted to sack the Makinde Police Station in Oshodi, Lagos State over the alleged killing of one Rafiu Adeniji by policemen.

A witness alleged that the deceased was shot on Sunday night by a team of policemen along Capitol Road, Agege, and that his body was taken to an undisclosed hospital at Oshodi.
The witness added that trouble started at about 10.30am yesterday when news of the death of Rafiu got to his brother, who owns a hotel at the area.
"It was the hotel owner who mobilized some youths to protest the killing of his brother by a police patrol team. The youths stormed Makinde Police Station and attempted to raze down the place," the witness said.
Our correspondent reports that the incident affected vehicular movement around Oshodi and its environs.
But Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Police Command Damasus Ozoani said nobody was injured in the incident.
"What happened was that a young man identified as Rafiu Adeniji was shot by unknown persons at Agege area on Sunday. The man was alleged to have been taken to one hospital at Oshodi.
