Kanye West says finance Kim Kardashian is queen of fashion; even better than the First Lady
He rapped about broke brothas and gold diggers with Jamie Foxx in 2005, which incidentally sold enough to ensure he will never be that broke brotha who never gets the time of day from gold diggers.He is known for his permanent scowl, paparazzi rage and excessive self-praise.
He went on television and accused a former president of not liking “black people” and rained on young singer Taylor Swift’s 2009 VMA parade, rudely interrupting her win with “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”
He sets fashion trends and is confident enough to wear a mask and skirt in public. He says he is a genius, causing host Jimmy Kimmel to make fun of him because of it.
His name is Kanye West and the first time I heard him rap, I thought, “There goes a promising young social revolutionary.” Mind you, I am not an expert on the hip-hop/rap culture, and Rasta Snoop Lion, aka Snoop Dog, is more my kind of tea—that is when I am in the rare mood for his sort of gangsta-laced genre.
I’m weird, what can I say, and my taste in music runs on the high eclectic.
Sorry, I digressed; back to Kanye.
I thought he was promising until I heard the “George Bush doesn't care about black people” line after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and Bush did a fly-over. Lack of eloquence aside, I knew he meant well, but my image of the silver-tongued poet was shattered.
However, people who know this business say he is something special and I am sure they know of that which they speak, though Kanye’s actions continue to veer in the opposite direction of genius.
When he blinged out his mouth, I thought it was a hoax—some publicity stunt to get the prerequisite hungered attention. But replacing all his bottom teeth with diamonds was indeed real.
It was then I knew there was less to Kanye than meets the eye but as I always say, whatever floats your boat is fine with me. Kanye’s smile, sanity and how he spends his money was his business and that of is his new fiancé/baby mama Kim Kardashian.
Speaking of Kimdashian, his recent rant about First Lady Michelle Obama not being able to hold a candle to his boo’s style and fashion power—well that was the hair that broke the camel’s back.
During a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, Kanye made it abundantly clear that his woman was far superior to every other woman, including first lady Michelle Obama, when it came to fashion.
"There is no reason why Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue" Kanye starts out, adding that Barbara Walters repeately calls to beg Kim to appear on her most interesting peoples' list every year.
"Of course we are the most interesting," he says as well as the most collectively influential.
"Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day," bragged Kanye. He also picked on the president, saying no one is watching or cares what he wears. [Click on video above to hear more].
I thought the internet grapevine was making this one up too until I heard the genius’s interview. The fact that the First Lady would have to be straight-jacket insane to post a pic of her much toned derrière online is totally lost on Kanye.
He doesn’t realize that the only way a classy, intellectual lady like Michelle will be doing a selfie like Kimmy, is if she is kidnapped and drugged by the teapartiers in Washington who will stop at nothing to get her Kenyan-born, socialist, Muslim hubby out of the White House.
But then again with his fiancé causing a mass media uproar with that selfie or her bare assets on Instagram and having the star power to pull in 18 million followers on Twitter, I can see how those delusions can get grandiose.
After all, he has learned from experience that the minutiae rules supreme in 2013. I hear he is even advocating strongly for Kim to get a Star on the Hollywood Walks of Fame, evn though she has no talents outside of her assets.
Speaking of minutiae; is it just me or does anyone else believes Kanye and Kimmy make a perfect pair? I hope they last forever, though with that amount of narcissism mirroring each other, one is sure to cancel out the other.
