Twitfighting seems to be the latest thing now especially among those in the movie and entertainment industry, the latest being that between Mavin Records boss Michael Collins, a.k.a Don Jazzy and former Mavin member, Wande Coal over the alleged theft of a song Baby Face. During the week, music-loving Nigerians were jolted out of their seats by a disagreement that arose between both of them on Twitter.
The development was more surprising because it seemed unbelievable that the usually demure Don Jazzy could engage someone in a verbal combat via the social media platform.
Their fans on Twitter obviously had something to say and most people are confused about who to believe, since both stars are adored by many.
Read some tweets below:
@KLASSIQUUEEE: "Wande coal and Don Jazzy twitfighting? Wahala dey oh
@SlickItem: "Don Jazzy accuses Wande Coal of intellectual property theft"
@IAmJova had this to say to Wande Coal: "@wandecoal: Are you stupid? How dare you talk to Don Jazzy like that? You are a fool.
@Sk_Akintan: "I wasn't expecting such from Don Jazzy. Did Wande Coal block his number? Can't he call him or something rather than coming to twitter?
@iAmSorrell: "Wande Coal is a talented young man. Stealing Don Jazzy's song after leaving the label was so unnecessary".
@SomaKudi: "If Don Jazzy loses Wande Coal, it's a wrap for Mavin."
Nigerians cannot forget the break-up of Mo'hits records which had stars like D'banj, K-Switch, Dr. Sid, Wande Coal and Don Jazzy himself. This break-up led to the formation of Mavin Records, which became a household name within a few months of its emergence. Under the record label, there are stars like Dr Sid, Tiwa Savage (regarded as the first lady of Mavin) and until this recent development, Wande Coal.
Don Jazzy seems to be loved more judging from the tweets above. So Wande Coal may just have to leave the social media and lay low for some time until the dust settles.
