As millions of Christians mark the birth of Jesus Christ Wednesday, Senate President David Mark and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, have encouraged Nigerians to put behind them the divisive tendencies caused by ethnic, religious or political leanings and embrace peace, unity, forgiveness and humility that Christ represents.

The duo in separate goodwill messages in commemoration of this year's Christmas celebration, urged Nigerians to promote peace and religious harmony and as well eschew bitterness which they said could serve as cog in Nigeria's wheel of progress.
Mark in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, recalled Nigeria's political history vis-a-avis the various ethno-religious conflicts which had claimed scores of lives and property and pleaded with Nigerians to device a better way of co-existence.
