An eminent jurist and elder statesman, Hon. Justice Saidu Kawu, is dead at the age of 85
Justice Suleiman Kawu, the eldest son of the deceased, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Ilorin.
He said that the late jurist died on Wednesday evening in Ilorin.
Suleiman said that the deceased would be buried on Thursday morning in IIorin.
In his lifetime after retiring from the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1993, the Ilorin-born judge headed the National Constitutional Conference Commission(NCCC) and other high-profile commissions.
Meanwhile, NAN reports that sympathisers, including members of the bench and the bar, have started paying condolence visit to the family at the compound of the late jurist.
