Keshi's confidence pays off for Imenger

Former Nigerian international, Barnabas Imenger, has hailed the impact of Super Eagles gaffer, Stephen Keshi, on the players at the ongoing Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), in South Africa.

Imenger, who was a teammate of Keshi and his assistant, Daniel Amokachi, at the national team, applauded the team’s fighting spirit in Wednesday’s 4-2 victory over Mozambique, in their second group match.

“The Eagles played better in the second half and deserved to win. We lost the balls in the first half, but all that changed in the second half when we had more possession.
“Keshi’s half time talk was perfected by the players. It was an improved performance,” Imenger told supersport.com.
When asked about the substitutions on match day, Imenger said: “The substitutes took the game to the next level.
“Interestingly, my son (Nanen) came in and scored the fourth goal for the Eagles. It was an intelligent goal and the technique was excellent.
“Nanen has learnt a lot under Keshi. I’m happy he returned to the country after a stint in Sweden.”
The Lobi Stars assistant coach expressed confidence that the Eagles will progress to the next round of the competition.
