Omotola Jalade and Genevieve Nanji started making wave in the Nollywood almost at the same time.
You will recall and agree with me that Genevieve was the first to get us all 'crazy' and her name was on the lips of everybody.

Then her star shined even across Africa and all the million naira and dollar deals started rolling in her, she started being invited for interviews on foreign shows like George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.
She was even on CNN. And remember she was even nicknamed the Julia Roberts of Africa. In fact, she was everywhere, on billboards, magazines, name it.
But all of a sudden, Omotola Jalade came from nowhere, outshining her that we hardly hear about Genny signing this or that deal, or going international again. In fact, Omosexy's reign seems to have spanned and still continues, longer than Genny's.
So what went wrong with Genny?
A school of thought argued that her 'downfall' came when she was on
George Stroumboulopoulos show and couldn't respond to simple historical questions on Biafra. These people believe since Genny stopped her education at the secondary level, she refused to develop herself and this told on her level of intelligence.
"Genevieve isn't a brilliant person. All she's about is acting and that's it, nothing more. If she'd taken time to improve by going back to school, maybe she'd been a better person."
Why is Omotola getting all the deals?
A school of thought argued that Omotola is a sexy mother of four who has worked harder to improve herself.
she had a brief stint at Obafemi Awolowo University and finally completed her studies at Yaba College of Technology Yaba (1996-2004), where she studied Estate Management.
Yes education isn't everything but Omotola sure had this edge which makes her more outspoken and writes well too.
Check out any of Genevieve's writeup like the story on the girl child she just posted on Instagram- she doesn't write well. Then she just started speaking out on issues of national and world concern like the protecting the right of the girl child just yesterday- maybe she'll start getting noticed if she does that often unlike Omotola who has been very active on social media, mostly with fans. Genny doesn't relate with fans on social media. All she does it go there to post photos so, whose fault but hers.
Then Genny seems to have an air of pride around her- I've met her at events where she had big-bodies bodyguards around her. What for? So her fans don't get to have access to even say "hi" to her or come closer for even a picture- you see why?
