The police in Enugu State have confirmed the killing of two notorious armed robbers who until their demise were serious terror to residents of the area.
Public relations officer of the state police command, Ebere Amaraizu who confirmed the death of the duo in a statement, alleged that the robbers opened fire on police operatives when they sighted them but the superior firearm of the police overpowered them.
According to him, one of the armed robbers died during the exchange of fire between the police and the criminals while another who sustained serious injuries gave up the ghost before he could be taken to the hospital for treatment.
He further disclosed that one of the robbers escaped with bullet injuries.
