The
ex-wife of Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards, has been seen stepping out
for the first time since reports surfaced her former husband is HIV
positive.
Charlie
has since confirmed the news, telling The Today Show's Matt Lauer on
Tuesday that he has been HIV positive for four years and that he was
blackmailed for millions as he tried to keep his secret under wraps.
Denise smiled while out and about in LA on Monday, just hours after The National Enquirer revealed the explosive story, which it had been working on for 18 months.

The
blonde actress appeared calm and composed the day before Charlie's
explosive interview as she went for a coffee run on Monday.
The 44-year-old remained composed, wearing a a black vest top team with a pair of blue jeans and a plaid shirt, while out in LA.
Denise wore her blonde locks in a center parting as she grasped her cup and made her way to the car.

Later Denise was seen out again, this time with her hair in a very loose plait.
She even managed to raise a smile as she kept her eyes hidden behind a pair of sunglasses.

Not a shock: According to Access
Hollywood Denise has known about Charlie's health situation for years.
He contracted HIV after their split in 2005
Denise
was married to Charlie for four years - they they first met in 2000,
but did not start dating until October 2001, when she appeared on his
sitcom Spin City.
They
then got engaged on December 26 of that year, and got married in June
2002. The pair have two children together - Sam, 11, and Lola, aged 10.
'I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV positive,' Charlie told Matt Lauer on Tuesday.
'It's a hard three letters to absorb. It's a turning point in one's life,' he later added.

According to Access Hollywood Denise
has known about Charlie's health situation for some time -it claimed he
contracted the illness in the years after their split in 2005.
Us Weekly also said neither she nor their children were HIV positive.
Discussing
Charlie's health on The Today Show, his Robert Huizenga said he had
known Sheen for five or six years and claimed that the HIV virus is now
'undetectable' in his blood.

Sheen
said he was 'not entirely' sure how he contracted the virus, but that
he felt a huge sense of relief after publicly revealing his status.
The
Anger Management star said he had told trusted friends his status over
the past few years, but that others had betrayed his trust and
blackmailed him for millions to stay quiet.
The
actor, whose hard-partying lifestyle has involved surrounding himself
with prostitutes and porn stars, also insisted he informed all his
partners of his HIV status.

He
said it was 'impossible' that he had transmitted the virus to anyone
else, although when asked if he had engaged in unprotected sex since
being diagnosed with the virus Sheen admitted that he had on two
occasions.
But he said that the individuals were aware of his status and under the care of his doctor.
On
Monday, The National Enquirer named the Two And A Half Men star as the
actor who was 'HIV positive.' Previously, rumors had swirled in
Hollywood of an A-List Hollywood playboy who had contracted HIV.

Hours later, the Today Show announced he would be revealing a personal matter in an interview with Lauer.
The troubled star has spent most of the past year out of the spotlight.
He
has not appeared on television since his show Anger Management went off
the air in 2014, except a guest appearance on the ABC comedy The
Goldbergs in February.

Two hours after The National Enquirer released its story on Monday,People confirmed the news with crisis manager Howard Bragman.
TMZ also reported the Anger Management star had known for a little over two years about his diagnosis.
