Unconfirmed reports say Nollywood actor Femi Branch was jailed at the Kirikiri maximum security prison owing to issues of indebtedness.
According to Entertainment Express, the actor lodged at De Santo hotel in Ikeja, Lagos for some months after which he presented a dud cheque to the management.
Branch allegedly accumulated a bill of N1.5 million during his time at the hotel.
Following this, authorities of the hotel reported the case to the police leading to the actor’s arrest.
On Friday, November 20 he appeared before an Ikeja magistrate court after which he was granted a bail of N500, 000. He was subsequently remanded in custody at the Kirikiri prison for some time till he fully met the bail conditions.
The case has reportedly been adjourned till Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
The 45-year-old actor is also as a producer, poet and playwright.
He graduated from the Obafemi Awolowo University with a degree in Dramatic Arts.
