Worrying reports from Tripoli, the Libyan capital, indicate that more than 300 Nigerians and Ghanaians have been kidnapped within one year.
It is alleged that a majority of the victims have so far been killed. It is yet unclear why they have been subjected to such inhumane treatment.
One of the surviving victims, Daniel Andoh in an interview with Citi News accused authorities at the Ghana and Nigerian Embassy in Libya of not serving the interest of both countries.
He narrated their predicament saying, “They are kidnapping Ghanaians and Nigerians here in Libya and our Ambassadors are not doing anything about it even though we have officially informed them about the situation.”
Anxious Andoh hinted that, on Wednesday, one of their colleagues from Nima (name withheld) was killed because he could not meet the Kidnappers demand.
He implied that the Kidnappers always demanded between 700 and 800 Dinar.
According to Andoh, Ghanaians living in Libya were tired of what he described as the two countriues Ambassador in Libya’s lukewarm attitude towards their plight.
He thus appealed to both government to support them.
